Halifax Food & Support Drop In

Individuals and organisations such as The Basement Project, Christians Together, Halifax Parish Church, Salvation Army and the St. Augustine's Centre are working in partnership to establish a drop-in point for 'Food & Support'.

The aim of the project is:
A number of churches and organisations are working in partnership to provide a weekly drop in point for food & support.

The aim of the project is to enable vulnerable people who have a 'chaotic lifestyle' to access a drop in on a weekly basic and collect a free food parcel and gain support and guidance to enable them to move on from their current situation. This will include:
  • people who are experiences homelessness
  • destitute asylum seekers
  • people who suffer from substance misuse
  • clients and people suffering extreme hardship.

Nature of the Project

Continuation of food supply and appropriate necessities such as personal hygiene items and food which can be easily stored and are necessary to meet basic needs/standard of living.

What's Needed?

People or groups to donate food on a regular basis
Set up of a Shopping tithe (encourage people to donate 10% of their weekly shopping budget so regular giving is secured
